Project Overview

The initiative focused on strengthening household-level food systems by enabling families to produce their own vegetables and poultry products year-round. By integrating kitchen gardening with small-scale poultry, PNARD promoted a low-cost, sustainable model that improves dietary diversity while generating supplemental income opportunities for rural households.

Implementation Approach

The project followed a participatory and practical implementation model, including:

  • Establishment of household kitchen gardens using locally adapted crops

  • Distribution and demonstration of backyard poultry management practices

  • Introduction and training on the use of solar-powered egg incubators

  • Continuous technical support and community engagement
